Summary description of the client and presenting issue
Arthur is a 43-year-old man, a divorced father of 3 children. He is worried about his 17-
year-old daughter’s behavioral trajectory. She has been acting out lately- coming home late, past
her curfew. She also continues hanging out with friends that his father disapproves of. Arthur
has tried to reach out to Kimmy’s mom for support, but she is uncooperative in protest to his
divorce. Kimmy has demonstrated utter defiance, and efforts to correct her via punishment have
been futile. She has disregarded the punishments and instructions and continues to sneak out of
home. She is irritated by his father, and considers his involvement as intrusive of her personal
space. She has started engaging in deceit. She lies to his father about her whereabouts and peers
she has been hanging out with.
