This paper outlines comprehensive strategies designed to enhance workforce readiness for autistic individuals. It emphasizes moving beyond simply placing autistic people in jobs to ensuring they receive the necessary support to thrive and grow professionally. The document details key areas of focus, including the crucial first step of identifying strengths and interests (such as pattern recognition, data analysis, and good memory) to match individuals with suitable careers. It also stresses the importance of training in soft skills and social communication, and providing necessary workplace accommodations (like clear directions and flexible working options) to manage stress and maximize performance. Introduction.

While people with autism are now being embraced within the community, more

importance has been placed on preparing them for workplaces. There is nothing wrong with

people on the autism spectrum, and everybody has something to bring to the table. With

proper help, they should be able to find good jobs and be happy doing them. In the case of

autistic people, such preparation includes approaches that focus on their abilities and offer

means to address possible difficulties. In this subtheme, we discuss strategies to support

autistic adults in gaining employment in the workplace.

1. Identifying Strengths and Interests

The first step towards building a workforce readiness of autistic people involves

identifying their potential and passion. In general, many people with autism have some

strengths, such as excellent visual perception, good memory, or pattern recognition, which are

essential in, for example, the analysis of data, quality control, and IT. Seeing these skills makes

it possible for professionals to ensure that people are placed where they are most likely to work
