Prerequisite Skills/Prior Knowledge:
The students will know about the different regions of Texas and how to use Microsoft PowerPoint.
Standards and Objectives
State/National Academic Standard(s):
(6) Geography. The student understands the concept of regions. The student is expected to:
(B) compare the physical regions of Texas (Mountains and Basins, Great Plains, North Central Plains,
Coastal Plains).
Learning Objective(s):
Using Microsoft PowerPoint, students will present and answer questions on Texas regions with 85% accuracy.
Assessment
Summative
I would use a rubric, and as they are presenting, use that to grade and evaluate their mastery and understanding of
the material.
Formative
While students are collaborating during class on PowerPoint, I would be walking throughout the class and giving
effective feedback to students when needed.
Materials
Chromebooks, Microsoft PowerPoint, and copies of the rubric.
