Introduction
The aim of any organization today is to increase its profits and expand on its growth.
Increasing the organizational profits for a business requires the management to understand the
environment that the business is operating in. This ensures the business is able to respond to any
threats from the environment in time and create a competitive edge for itself in the market. The
leadership style that a business adopts also plays a crucial part in ensuring business success. This
study will evaluate the business environment of Amazon using the SWOT and PESTEL analysis.
It will also, evaluate the leadership style adopted by Amazon as well as other leadership styles
available.
Task 1: SWOT and PESTEL analysis of Amazon
A SWOT analysis is a planning technique that is used by organizations to understand
their strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats. Strengths and weaknesses are internal to
the organization and it has control over (Sarsby, 2016). Opportunities and threats are external to
the organization, and therefore, the business has no control over these factors. Carrying out a
SWOT analysis for Amazon will help identify the areas where it is doing well and build on them.
It will also identify the weaknesses it is facing and work on them.
