You are the Manager at The Big-Three Safari Lodge, situated in the precinct of Mary- Albertson. Mr Thabang, the building inspector, was appointed to conduct a yearly routine inspection of the buildings at the lodge, including the reception area, restaurant, swimming pools, and guest rooms, to assess maintenance needs. Following his inspection, Mr Thabang recommended an overall refurbishment of these areas. The refurbishment was scheduled for completion by 31 October 2025, with the intention of reopening the facility to the public during the festive season. At a strategic planning meeting you attended with the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Ms Sangweni, the Human Resource Manager, and the Project Manager, it was reported that only 40% of the work was completed. It was highly unlikely that the refurbishment process could be completed as planned.1. Hi Workshop Manger! | hope you still remember that day you serviced my car. You now, | here writing to complain about the work you performed on that car. It is not good at all. They know nothing about fixing cars-always like to talk and talk. My problem is now that the following day when we were about to deliver goods, our company helps to post and deliver goods. We found that the plugs of the car were not exchanged, and the rear brake lights were not fixed. There is no light that shows wen you depress the brakes. | am concerned because | popped almost R8 320,00 for such poor work. , TO: FROM: Mr.
DATE: 23 September 2025 SUBJECT: URGENT: Unsatisfactory Service and Outstanding
Repairs on Panel Van (Invoice Ref: [Insert Ref Number])
Dear Manager,
I am writing to express my significant disappointment regarding the service and repairs
performed on our company panel van (Boys-be-Boys Courier Services) on 22 September 2025.
The vehicle was brought in for a full service and specifically for the repair of the rear brake
lights. I was assured by your mechanic, Mr. Thakhani, that he would check the vehicle and
confirm the required work. Unfortunately, no follow-up was received.
Upon inspection the following morning (23 September 2025), we discovered that two critical
issues remain unresolved, despite the substantial payment of R8 320.00 for the work:
1. The spark plugs were not exchanged as part of the standard service.
2. The rear brake lights were not fixed and are completely non-functional when the
brakes are depressed.
As a commercial courier service, this vehicle is essential to our daily operations, and the failure
to fix the brake lights renders it unsafe and unusable. The unsatisfactory quality of the work is
unacceptable for a reputable workshop.
I kindly request your immediate intervention to resolve this matter. Please arrange for a full re-
inspection and the completion of the promised work at your earliest convenience and at no
additional cost. I look forward to hearing from you within 24 hours to schedule the vehicle’s
return.
Sincerely,
Mr. Sign Manager Boys-be-Boys Courier Services
