• head tilt chin lift is used for medical pts.
•jaw thrust is used for trauma pts.
• suction or finger sweeps to remove blood or foreign objects.
•heimlich maneuver
• place pt in a supine position if they need to be ventilated(medical pt).
Assess breathing - Answer-After you secure the airway.
• determime adequate inadequate
• determine need for early O2 therapy
• provide positive pressure ventilation with inadequate breathing.
Rate and quality of breathing - Answer-Look, listen and feel.
Asses the amout of air in or out(tidal volume).
Breathing is too fast or too slow if it is out of the range of 8-24 per min for adult.
