, Critical Analysis of Qualitative and Quantitative Articles
Qualitative Article
Validity
The article hypothesized that the participants would learn about the Equity-Mobilizing
Partnership in Community (EMPaCT) model. The issue of concern was to explore the challenges
and opportunities associated with this model to improve patient engagement and promote health
equity in projects and policies (Sayani et al., 2023). The study utilized accurate methods, polls,
Padlet-based activities and interactive discussion were used in the study to collect data from the
participants. However, these methods are not experimental; hence, they may limit the quality of
data collected. The study did not apply any formal measurement tools to measure the outcomes;
therefore, the validity and reliability cannot be measured. The results for the interactive polls
were measured, with outcomes measured for each of the six steps. All the outcomes for each step
were clearly described, and their achievement was measured qualitatively.
Reliability
This article discussed various outcomes; the participants gained significant Knowledge
on interactive workshops, and how these elements contribute to health inequities in the
populations. The study introduced the EMPaCT model, and the participants were receptive to the
model. The participants were self-selected. Those who participated are individuals who were
interested in health equity, those willing to engage in partnerships to attain the same, and
individuals willing to participate in reaching marginalized communities (Sayani et al., 2023).
Potential bias related to self-reporting exists as individuals' reports cannot be validated.
However, it covered the population of interest, which was the individuals working in the
healthcare department. The study did not apply any statistical analysis for the research,
