In this assignment I will be explaining how the training need of McDonalds are linked to
different levels within its structure. I will also be describing what an organization
needs to consider when identifying its training needs. Moreover, I will be comparing the
training needs for staff at different levels and explain the importance for McDonalds
to identify its training needs.
McDonalds is an American fast food company, founded in 1940. The business operates
globally in many countries around the world and sell French fries, burger, drinks and
desserts as well.
From the graph below, we can see McDonalds hierarchy. An organizational structure is
a scheme that outlines how activities are directed in order to achieve the goals of
an organization. These activities can include rules, roles and responsibilities.
McDonalds has mainly a centralised structure where all decisions and processes are
handled from the top executives example the logo, how to advertise their products.
However, it also has decentralised structure this because local managers are the ones
who decide who to recruit or what staff members are ideal for a certain role locally. It
is a flattened hierarchy with wider roles, which requires more training.
Training is a process through which the HR of a business gains knowledge and develops
skills by instruction and practical activities that results in improving the corporate
performance. So, McDonalds has they want to grow when having its employees, they can
identify their training needs through the business strategy for example: McDonalds is
