BEHAVIORISM
Definition: Behaviorism is a learning theory based on the ideas that behavior can be controlled or
modified based on the antecedents and consequences of a behavior.
The behavior is more or less likely to reoccur based on the reinforcement or consequences that follow in
the right environment, such as rewards and punishments.
All behaviors are either produced by a response to a certain stimulus in the environment or a
consequence of that individual’s history. A change in external behavior achieved through using
reinforcement and repetition to shape behavior of learners
Incorporating behaviorism into the classroom allow educators to assist their students in excelling both
academically and personally.
