Instructions:

2. Adhere to the Policies on Plagiarism, Academic Integrity, and Copyright Infringement
3. Answers prepared using Microsoft Word, for example, must be CONVERTED into a single PDF
formatted document for uploading onto myExams.
4. Handwritten paper-based answer sheets must be SCANNED and CONVERTED into a single
PDF formatted document for uploading onto myExams.
5. Do not password-protect your answer file.
6. Answers must be submitted via myExams: https://myexams.unisa.ac.za/portal login with your
myUnisa credentials (your student number and password).
7. No emailed answers will be accepted.
8. Answer files should be submitted in English ONLY.
9. Facts must be written out in complete, well-explained sentences. No marks will be allocated
to vague and single word or cryptic answers.
10. This is an open book examination. There is no need for a table of contents, introduction,
conclusion or list of references. Simply answer all the questions.
11. Make sure that each question and sub-question is clearly numbered and that the numbering
corresponds with those in the examination paper.
12. While you are not required to cite your sources, this does not mean that you can simply copy
information from any source and include it in your assessment. You need to answer the questions
in your own words. Plagiarism will not be tolerated and may result in disciplinary action if

detected and a mark of 0%. This also applies to academic dishonesty, contract cheating and
students submitting similar answers.
13. Please ensure that you submitted a declaration of honesty on myExams.
14. Please ensure that your PDF document is NOT encrypted to a “secured” mode and that it is
NOT password protected as these files cannot be marked. Virus infected files will also not
be marked. The maximum file size is 20Mb.
15. NO late submissions will be accepted, once the four hours have lapsed, convert your
document to pdf format and start submitting it and upload before the cut-off time.
16. Submit your answers in one PDF document on the myExams platform
(https://cems.myexams.unisa.ac.za). See the Student Guide: my Exams File Upload
Examination for details on the steps that you should follow. No e-mailed scripts will be
accepted.
17. Students are advised to preview submissions (answer scripts) to ensure legibility and
that the correct answer script file has been uploaded.
18. Students are permitted to resubmit their answer scripts on myExams within the 30 additional
minutes uploading time should their initial submission be unsatisfactory.
19. Incorrect answer scripts and/or submissions made on unofficial examinations platforms
(including the invigilator cell phone application) will not be marked and no opportunity will be
granted for resubmission.
20. A mark awarded for an incomplete or illegible scanned submission will be the student’s final
mark. No opportunity for resubmission will be granted.
21. Students who have not utilised invigilation or proctoring tools will be subjected to disciplinary
processes.
22. Students have a specified period from the day of their examination to upload their invigilator
results from the Invigilator App. Failure to do so will result in students deemed not have
participated in the online invigilation. Refer to the online exam arrangements and rules in
this regard

23. Students suspected of dishonest conduct during the examinations will be subjected to
disciplinary processes. Unisa has a zero tolerance for plagiarism and/or any other forms of
academic dishonesty.
24. Students are provided 30 minutes to submit their answer scripts after the official
examination time. Submissions made after this time will be rejected by the examination
regulations and will not be marked.
25. Students experiencing network or load shedding challenges are advised to apply for an
aegrotat and submit supporting evidence within three days of the examination session to the
Exam Department – lecturers cannot assist with this. We have on several occasions warned
students prior to the examination to make alternative arrangements in case of load shedding.
26. Students experiencing technical challenges should contact .
Only communication received from your myLife account will be considered. Note there
is a separate WhatsApp number to report problems with The Invigilator App.
27. You may not share this assessment with any other person now or in future and you
may not collaborate with any other student or person during the examination via any
means. This is academic dishonesty and if we detect this, we will take disciplinary
action.
