Regional tourism - This refers to tourism to a specific area or region. When we talk
about regional tourism in southern Africa, we usually refer to tourism in the SADC
member countries.

The role of the Regional Tourism Organisation if Southern Africa
(RETOSA)
RETOSE is a Southern African Development Community (SADC) body responsible
for the promotion and marketing of tourism in the region.

• To ensure that the tourism industry become the economic driver for SADC,
though effective development and promotion of the region.

RETOSAs main objectives
• To increase the volume (number of visitors) of inbound tourism to and within
the region.
• To create investment awareness for tourism development in the region.
