Respiratory distress, Hypotension, Hypothermia
What do you do if your patient has a blood transfusion reaction? -ANS-Stop transfusion
immediately
-Continue NS
-Examine blood bag and send back to BB
-monitor VS q15 mins
-Send post transfusion blood sample to lab
CVA symptoms -ANSConfusion, one-sided weakness and facial drooping
What do you do If your patient expresses chest pain and dyspnea -ANSContact rapid
response
Hypoglycemia symptoms -ANS- Tachycardia
- Moist clammy skin
- Vertigo (dizzy)
- Tremors
What do bilateral rales indicate onset and/or worsening? -ANSHeart Failure (HF)
Hypertension symptoms -ANS-headache (usually in occipital region and occurs upon
waking up)
-dizziness
-weakness
-epistaxis
-tinnitus
-blurred vision
-seizures
