2) on the LHS of your document draw a diagonal line through and write “ROFWERK” at the top (this is
vital). Start planning your writing:
a) Write the sentence in Afrikaans as you think of it …
Thinking in English:
Exams are the worst part of school and if you want to do well, you must make sure that you reduce your
stress.
Write in Afrikaans:
Eksamens is die [worst] [part] van skool en as jy wil goeie doen, jy moet maak seker dat jy [reduce] jou
stres.
b) Edit the sentence
c) Write the next sentence
d) Best suggestion – write the sentences under each other – it is easier to edit
e) Things to look out for when editing:
• STOMPI
• Conjunction rules
• DAWN
• Adjectives ( end in – e) remember vriend = male / vriendin = female
• Spelling
3) count your words
4) write out in neat with the corrections and final word count at the end
ALL OF THE ABOVE SHOULD TAKE UP ABOUT 85% OF YOUR TIME.
