Wat is DNA?
Eukaryoten1

- Hebben celkern + mitochondrium  daarin zit DNA (desoxyribonucleïnezuur)
o Bij planten ook in het chondroplast
- DNA= drager erfelijk materiaal
o Kern-DNA: in alle dierlijke en plantaardige cellen
o Mitochondriaal DNA: niet in zaadcellen WEL in eicellen

Prokaryoten2

- Geen kern en geen DNA  wel erfelijk materiaal
o Sommige levendige organismen vinden we RNA terug
 Onstabiele molecule, kans op genetische variatie  DNA is stabieler en
wordt daarom gebruikt in de natuur.

DNA bestaat uit 2 strengen van nucleotiden die in de vorm van een dubbele helix om elkaar heen
zijn gedraaid.

- Erfelijke info ligt besloten in de volgorde van de nucleotiden
- Deze volgorde kan worden gekopieerd in ander materiaal, RNA
