reliable solution with clear explanation

ACTIVITY 1: Climate Change and Its Impact

1.1: Five Negative Effects of Climate Change

1. Rising Temperatures and Heatwaves

Climate change causes a steady rise in global temperatures due to
increased greenhouse gas emissions. This leads to more frequent and
intense heatwaves, especially in already warm regions like Africa.
Prolonged heat exposure can lead to dehydration, heatstroke, and even
death. It also affects agriculture by damaging crops and reducing yields.
Urban areas become “heat islands,” worsening living conditions for
vulnerable populations.

2. Drought and Water Scarcity

Changing rainfall patterns and increased evaporation due to high
temperatures result in prolonged droughts. This leads to reduced water
availability for drinking, farming, and sanitation. Communities
depending on rain-fed agriculture suffer from food insecurity. Water
shortages also strain healthcare and education services. In the long run,
droughts force migration and increase poverty.
