What are the branches of leadership in COGIC? - Answer-Just like the federal and most state
governments, COGIC has three main branches of
governance:
Legislative: The General Assembly
Executive: The General Board
Judicial: The Judiciary Board
The General Assembly - Answer-• The highest lawmaking and doctrine-expressing body in the church
• Administered by a Chairman, Vice Chairman, and the General Secretary
• Elects all major officers of the church
The General Board - Answer-• 12 jurisdictional bishops elected by the general assembly for 4-year terms
• Led by the presiding bishop, who is elected from among the 12
• Appoints bishops, and guides the day-to-day administration of the church
• All actions are subject to the approval of the General Assembly
The Judiciary Board - Answer-• 9 members elected by the General Assembly
• Try cases involving constitutional issues in the church
