How do you scroll through EICAS messages if there are too many. - ANSWER Turning
the active CCD scroll knobs scrolls the stack.
What does it mean when an EICAS message has a chevron next to it? - ANSWER
Chevron indicates a root message
When will an EGPWS warning occur? - ANSWER Mode 1 - Excessive descent rates
with SINK RATE and PULL UP aural warnings.
Mode 2 - Excessive terrain closure rates with TERRAIN, TERRAIN and PULL UP aural

WARNING.

What is the EGPWS recovery procedure? - ANSWER VMC or IMC between 1000 and
500 AGL:

IMC below 500 AGL:
Below 500 AGL: perform EGPWS/CFIT escape maneuver immediately.
When will a Traffic Advisory populate? - ANSWER Annunciated when other airplane is
approximately 35 s to 45 s from the TCAS collision area.

When will a Resolution Advisory populate? - ANSWER Is annunciated when another
airplane is 20s to 30s from the collision area.
What is the procedure for a Traffic Advisory? - ANSWER PF places hands on the
control column and thrust levers prepared to react to a RA.
PF visually searches for the intruding a/c and when aquired maneuver to maintain visual
separation.
PM turns on all external lights.
PM looks at the TCAS and states relative position and assists the PF in search of the
intruder. Notifies ATC as soon as practical of deviation.
What two kinds of fire extinguishers and what types of fire can they be used on? -
ANSWER Water and Halon
Halon for A B and C classes of fire.

How do you know if the flashlight is sufficiently charged? - ANSWER red status light is
flashing every 3-8 seconds
How do you know that the PBE is airworthy? - ANSWER Airworthy if the humidity
indicator is blue. If pink, needs to be replaced. The silver seals are intact.

What purpose does each inverter serve? - ANSWER The inverter converts 28 V of DC
power from batteries to 115 volts of AC power.
What purpose does a TRU serve? - ANSWER Converts AC to DC.
What is the difference between OFF and DISC on either IDG selector? - ANSWER Off
opens the IDG contactor isolating from the respective AC BUS; DISC mechanically
disconnects the IDG.
What, operationally, is powered even while the batteries are off? - ANSWER HOT BATT
