Introduction:
I am an employee who works for a PC repair company where I am working
as an IT Technician. My manager has an interest in branching out our
business into the IT Support and management market where me and my
company will then provide IT support to businesses which are local to us.
To begin with this, my manager has asked me to research two different IT
Systems that are both different from each other, which means that one IT
System may need the type of support that another IT system may not. In
addition to this, I will be writing a report for her in which I will be
evaluating the support and management needs of the two different
organizations and their IT Systems. Within this report, I will be firstly
discussing the safe working practices for using IT Systems and the various
job roles which are involved within IT System Support and Management
along with the different systems and different network tools that are also
used when supporting and managing different IT systems, later on within
the report, I will also be analysing and evaluating the different systems
and different networks that are used when supporting and managing
different IT systems.
What is the role of an IT Technician?
IT technicians have a variety of roles which help specific organisations to
strengthen their technology infrastructure and help the IT systems of an
organisation run smoothly. There are a wide range of different tasks an IT
Technician would complete for an organisation; I will explain these tasks in
further detail. The first task an IT Technician is to provide training; training
is crucial especially to an organisation as it will help their employees to
operate any system and give guidance on how to fix problems which may
occur quickly and effectively. The second task of an IT Technician to setup
computer desktops and install the required software applications which
the user will needs which will vary as someone with a device for personal
needs may need different software applications compared to a large
organisation. Another task which an IT Technician is user support. This is
an important task as the IT Technician will provide support to a user
usually through a help desk if a user is struggling to operate a system or is
suffering from technical problems which the IT Technical will provide
support to help the user fix these problems. The final role of an IT
