This review sheet is a compact and organized reference sheet for Grade 9 Mathematics students preparing for exams. It includes key formulas, definitions, and math terms across major topics such as algebra, geometry, linear relations, number sense, and measurement. Designed for quick lookup and last-minute study, each concept is clearly stated with supporting examples where needed. This was used as my cheat sheet for my final exam in Grade 9 Math, and I scored an A+.

MATH CHEAT SHEET - Seona Gupta

Scientific notation → 720,000 ⇒ 7.2 x 105
Number sets → natural number (counting numbers excluding zero),
integer (both negative and positive numbers, include zero but no
fractions/decimals), rational number (can be expressed as a fraction of
integers, neg or pos)
Set builder notation → e.g. {x ∈ ℕ | x ≥ 6}

Direct variation (line that starts at zero on a graph) and partial variation
(line that starts at any other point BUT zero on graph)
Line = y = mx + b

Slope = rise/run and Y2 - Y1 / X2 - X1
Zero slope ― and undefined slope |
First differences → the increase/decrease pattern in the y axis/column
Perpendicular line looks like this: ⊥, and a Parallel line looks like this: //
Perpendicular slope → negative reciprocal of the SLOPE (m variable)
Parallel slope → any slope change but always the same Y-INTERCEPT (b
variable)
Isosceles triangle has two sides the same length and one side different.
Scalene triangle has all sides different lengths. Equilateral triangle has all
sides the same length or equal length.
THE SUM OF ALL INTERIOR ANGLES IS 180o
Angle relationships → supplementary angle ⇒ total sum of 180
o

Complementary angle ⇒ total sum of 90o (the angle is within a right
angle)
Opposite angles look like an X shape, the opposite angles are equal value.
Corresponding angles → F shape, interior angles are equal
Alternate angles → Z shape, interior angles are equal
Co-interior angles → C shape, interior angles have a sum of 180o.
Pythagorean theorem = a2 + b2 = c2
Sum of interior angles in a polygon (s represents number of sides in the
shape) ⇒ (s - 2) x 180 = sum
