In today’s digital world, a single online review can significantly impact a restaurant’s
reputation, often carrying more influence than traditional food critics ever have. The article
“Everyone’s a Critic” explores the growing role of online reviews in the restaurant industry,
highlighting both the benefits and challenges they present. While some restaurant owners
embrace the exposure and constructive criticism, others struggle with misleading reviews, biased
opinions, and the risk of online attacks. As someone in the food industry, I recognize the power
of online reviews, but I also believe they need more accountability to ensure fairness for both
customers and restaurant owners.

The article raises an important question: “Do online reviews fairly represent a restaurant’s
quality, or do they unfairly shape public perception?” In my experience, online reviews are a
double-edged sword. On one hand, they provide valuable feedback that can help restaurants
improve their food, service, and overall experience. Positive reviews can attract new customers
and boost business, while constructive criticism can help owners identify areas for growth.
However, the downside is that reviews are often subjective, and not all customers are fair in their
