The Hagiographies of Holy People
The reclamation of a holy person’s life extends the theological purposes of the
author by implying that every holy person had a guiding influence in their lives that
helped them in their journey. This can be seen in my hagiography that I wrote for St
Supertramp in which I talked about Ron Franz being a guide to St Supertramp.
According to my hagiography, it says, “If Ron Franz hadn’t been there to provide aid and
comfort to St. Supertramp, he would have lost hope in his journey. St. Supertramp had
lost all his possessions and his family and there was no real guide in his life to move
him forward and tell him where to go. Ron Franz was that guide for him and Ron
provided him with the tools and the family support that he needed on his journey.”1 So,
in this hagiography, I am basically talking about how Ron Franz impacted Supertramp’s
life by offering him help in his journey. He was essentially a father figure to him and a
and he gave him the necessary tools and support that he needed to finish his journey.
He was like a lost traveler wandering the earth before he met Ron. After he met Ron, he
had a clear direction what he wanted to do and he could thank Ron Franz for that.
Another hagiography that I would like to use as an example is Amir’s hagiography.
According to Amir, it says, “I felt that the most powerful part of their time together was
actually the last time they shared. At this point in their interactions, they have built a
