Read the case study below and complete the tasks that follow: You work at a HR consultancy firm. Mr. Mudau, a senior consultant in your firm recently passed away. Your supervisor (Ms. Ismail) handed you the last client file (Betty’s Bakery – pages 6 to 13 of this document) that Mr Mudau was working on before his demise. She requests you to work through the file and submit a proposal on how to manage issues at Betty’s Bakery as soon as you can. She understands that this may be your first task handling such a big project, so she guides you by providing you with specific tasks to work on. These are indicated below. Task 1: You need to peruse through the case file (pages 6 – 13 of this document) that Mr Mudau has compiled. In order to wrap your head around the case, you decide to work meticulously through all the documents. The case file includes (1) company background information, (2) a copy of the employment contract between Betty’s Bakery and their employees, (3) an interview transcript between Mr Mudau and a waitron from Betty’s Bakery and (4) some of Mr Mudau’s notes. Conduct and present a SWOT analysis on the state of Betty’s Bakery based on the information you have at your disposal. You are required to provide at least two (2) points per section in the SWOT template based on your analysis of all the documents. [9] Task 2: The staff at Betty’s Bakery have never had a formal contract of employment. In trying to correct matters, Betty quickly draws up an employment contract on Chat GPT for a waitron. You peruse the contract and notice many issues. You set out to correct these issues and create a new and improved employment contract for Betty’s Bakery. 2.1 Your task is to critically evaluate the employment contract extract provided, identifying at least five instances of non-compliance with South African labour legislation. (5) 2.2 For each issue identified in 2.1, analyse the implications of the non-compliance for both the employer and the employee by interpreting and applying the relevant provisions of South African labour law. Make sure to indicate the relevant excerpt from the Act/Law. (5) 2.3 Synthesize a legally compliant and practically effective revision of each clause. (20) [30] Task 3: 3.1 Staff complained that they have not been receiving payslips. They explain to you that monthly salary deductions are made for late coming, negligence, breakages and theft without any records, evidence or explanations. Compile a compensation policy for Betty’s Bakery which clearly states employees’ salaries, any additional compensation and deductions that are made. (10) 3.2 Based on the policy you have created in question 3.1, compile a dummy payslip to show Betty exactly what needs to be included. The employee for whom you will be compiling the dummy slip will work 1 hour overtime on one Sunday in the month. (10) [20] Task 4: Betty’s Bakery is getting a lot of negative PR on social media. Instruct Betty on how to respond to any negative posts made on social media. Provide her with a general response on how she can address the negative image that has now been created of the company. [5] Task 5: Complete the self-reflective learning journal as per the instructions provided. [35] Task 6: Provide a bibliography for all sources you have used in this assessment as per the Harvard Referencing style. [1] Total: 100 marks

following potential defects):

2.1 Employment Contract Extract Critical Analysis (at least five non-compliance instances): [5]

Unclear Working Hours Clause: The labor contract might have a clause which states "Working

the normal hours of work daily and weekly, as required by the Basic Conditions of Employment
Act (BCEA).
