Restrictions in VA - Answer--Curfew 12-4am except for traveling from work/school
activity, or a supervised civic/religious/public organization, when responding to
emergency calls, or in case of an emergency
-Until you have license for a year, only 1 non-family member can be in the car under
age 21
-once you have license for a year you may have 3 non-family members under the
age of 21 if you are traveling to and from school, licensed driver is in the front seat,
and in emergencies
-cellphones are not allowed to be used
-does not apply to immediate family members
Obtaining learner's permit - Answer--must have parents permission
-must be 15 and 6 months
-Provide proof of residency, identity, social security number and legal presence
-must answer 100% on signs test
-must answer 80% on general knowledge test
-must take vision test
Failed learner's permit - Answer--applicants under 18 must wait 15 days to retake
-applicants over 18 must pay $2 or wait 15 days
-fail 3 times must take driver's ed.
-fail more than 3 times you must take the 8 Hour Learner's Permit Test Prep Course
Permit Guidelines - Answer--should practice with a licensed driver who is at least 21
or a family member at least 18
- carriers may not carry more than 3 passengers who are under the age of 18.
Obtaining Driver's license - Answer--must be at least 16 years and 3 months old
-must hold a learner's permit for at least 9 months
-must successfully complete driver's ed
- parent permission as well as a certified 45 hours (at least 15 of which were after
sunset) is a must for applicants under the age of 18.
- must attend Partners for Safe Teen Driving Program with you parent/guardian
-When you start driving, you must carry with you, your 180 day temporary license
(TDL-180)

Organ Donor - Answer--choice will be shown on license and permit with a heart
-anyone can be a donor
-it does not cost anything
-you can be a donor in any state
Licensing Ceremony - Answer--will receive notice of date to appear within the initial
180 day licensing period
-Judge will give your parents the hard copy of your license at a ceremony
