A. Evaluate the attached “Summative Assessment” by doing the following:

1. Identify the strengths and weaknesses of the attached “Summative Assessment” in relation to

cultural responsiveness, and justify why you classified each as a strength or weakness (NELP

4.3).

This summative assessment has both strengths and weaknesses concerning cultural

responsiveness. Regarding strengths, the assessment appears to follow the standards

presented and taught, although a few standards are not assessed that are covered. The

standards are listed on the Curriculum Map and covered under Unit 2 covering; 4.OA.A3

multistep word problems, 4.OA.B.4 finding factored pairs, 4.OA.C.5 generating

number/shape patterns, 4.NBT.A1 recognizing multi-digit whole number place value,

4.NBT.B.6 long division with four-digit dividends and one-digit divisors, and 4.MD.B.4 line

students know the difference between a heifer and a bull and the number of football players

that make up a team can deter the students from getting correct answers by no fault of their

own.

2. Identify the strengths and weaknesses of the attached “Summative Assessment” in relation to

accessibility, and justify why you classified each as a strength or weakness (NELP 4.3).

There are strengths and weaknesses of the Summative Assessment concerning

accessibility too. First, a strength is that it aligns with the standards taught in the unit it

correlates with, Unit 2 chapters 4-6. The Curriculum Map lists the standards covered in the

Summative Assessment pertaining to; factored pairs, number patterns, place value, and multi-
