Change is inevitable in any organization, but especially in an industry that is dependent
on advancing technology and innovative ideas. While resistance to change is unavoidable,
ever evolving change should be expected. It is a necessary evil in order to remain relevant in
our industry. Minimizing the effect it has on our daily operations is essential. As the director
of training at PGI, I am proposing we use the following four approaches to manage the
employee’s opposition to change while executing the new quality control training program.

, To start, we will need to educate and communicate the importance and benefits of the new
program with all the employees. This will help in the elimination of rumors and managing any
misconceptions and fears our staff may have about the new program. By providing clear and to
the point information, we can be definitive in assisting staff in comprehending the necessity of
the new program and how it can improve our overall organizational performance.
It is then imperative for PGI to involve all areas of the company in the planning and the
execution of the development of this training program. This can also assist in managing
employee resistance. People are more likely to support a project that they are involved with
developing and launching. By making this a companywide project, we will be able to get ideas
and perspectives from many different angles that may not have been addressed if we limited the
participation.
Next, we must consider providing facilitation and support during the launch of the
program, this will also help in minimizing resistance. Support can be as simple as providing
remedial or additional training and finding more resources for review. Monitoring progress and
success of the program can be included in this step. This can be achieved by answering any
