Neurological Ward: Barbara's role involved a wide range of tasks, including putting
in and monitoring IVs, checking patient charts, providing care, food, and medication,
performing dressing changes and bed baths, addressing patients' questions and
concerns, participating in after-surgery care, consulting on pain and symptom
management, walking after surgery, and coordinating home care (Eliot, 2020).

Operating Room: Her tasks in the operating room were significantly more limited. On
rare occasions, she would put in catheters and position patients. Primarily, her role
involved basically following the doctors' instructions during surgery3 and standing
around waiting for instructions from the surgeon. If no operations were scheduled, she
had little (if any) work to do.

Patient Interaction and Relationship:

Neurological Ward: Barbara enjoyed her daily personal interaction with the
