, Assessment 1 Reflection
1. Historians study the past by collecting evidence from sources like books, diaries,
newspapers, oral histories, and more. They critically examine these sources to
find out what happened, why it happened, and what effects it had. They also look
at the context of the time to understand the events better.
2. From studying history, I have learned analytical skills like how to look at different
points of view, how to question the reliability of sources, and how to make
arguments based on evidence. These skills are useful in many subjects and in
life in general.
3. A good paragraph starts with a topic sentence that introduces the main idea. It is
followed by supporting sentences that explain or give examples. It ends with a
concluding sentence that links back to the main idea or connects to the next
paragraph.
4. A well-structured essay has an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion.
The introduction presents the topic and states the main argument. Each body
paragraph discusses a point that supports the argument. The conclusion brings
everything together and restates the main points clearly.
5. Academic dishonesty in history includes plagiarism (copying someone’s work
without giving credit), cheating, using fake references, and getting someone else
to do your work. It is important to be honest and original because history is about
facts and careful interpretation of evidence.
