Consistency
My first signature theme from my CliftonStrengths assessment is
consistency. This trait showing up as one of my strengths was not surprising
to me as I value routine and structure. I also value rules and policies to guide
decisions and actions and I find making exceptions to rules obstructive and
unfair to others that are expected to follow the same policies. Establishing
and promoting consistency fosters a supportive work environment where my
direct reports are treated equally and have a clear sense of expectations.
Empathy
My second CliftonStrengths signature theme is empathy. My strength in
empathy drove me to pursue a career in nursing. I have always been able to
empathize with my patients and also my direct reports as a leader. I actively
listen to others and am able to empathize by putting myself in their shoes. I
have been told numerous times that others-even strangers feel comfortable
opening up to me and share personal feelings and thoughts. I can often
sense what others are feeling even if they do not communicate their feelings
to me. I feel like my empathetic nature helps me resonate with my direct
reports and colleagues and helps to build trusting relationships.
Intellection
My third CliftonStrengths signature theme is intellection. I am
intellectual by nature and I like to think things through before reacting. I tend
to spend a lot of time thinking about upcoming conversations and
interactions and ponder alternative dialogues and what possible outcomes
