Academic teaching and ABA
I was introduced to aba therapy at the beginning of this year. I was searching how I could
further my education in psychology while working with kids. My end goal is to be a BCBA. I
enjoy working with so many personalities including that I have many myself. So far on my
journey I feel like a teacher because some targets I run are more academic based than behavioral
therapy. It's different and more broad than I thought it would be. The establishment and
reinforcement of socially significant behaviors is the ultimate aim of ABA.Which brings me to
the question. Is academic instruction really important in aba?
