Research methods section two desgin
Naturalistic observation
1) We could only record effects of behaviour we were interested in rather than trying to record
every behaviour we saw to reduce the data collected.
2) The difference between recording and interpreting is that recording is where by you tick
boxes to record behaviour and interpreting is where by you write down what you see and
you’re thoughts and feelings on what the behaviour could suggest.
Interveiws
1) You could use and informal interveiw and make the interveiwee feel as comfortable as
possible e.g nice tone of voice , listen attentivly
2) You could make sure that males are interveiwed by males and females interveiwed by
females or you could ask for the interveiwee’s preferance
3) Weakness = participants may be influenced by others
Strength = P’s may be more confidant when answering questions
Questionnaires
1) Question one does not accommodate for all catogry’s what if you have no religion?
2) Ypu cannot find out about how strongly a person feels about the subject matter in question 2
3) You cannot receive qualitative data
4) Question four encourages people to produce bias answers
