Value Theory (Locke, 1976) is a suitable framework for investigating employee
unhappiness because it posits that job satisfaction arises when employees perceive
that their work aligns with their personal values. If there is a mismatch between
employees' values and their work environment, dissatisfaction occurs (Elizur & Sagie,
1999).

Why Value Theory is Appropriate:
