mouth care - ANS-help patients with brushing tooth. If they have dentures, get rid of and
smooth. Make sure patient has denture cup
nail care - ANS-do not reduce finger/toe tails
POA - ANS-present on admission
shaving - ANS-most effective shave with the nurses permission and take away wellknown
shaver in sharps field
Things to keep in mind for baths - ANS-- do not use wash basin if patient has a catheter
- wash head to toe and cover exposed areas
- use lotion or petroleum jelly
