Reflection on Learning
1. Describe how learning in this course helped you to meet Program
Outcome 2: Creating a caring environment for achieving quality health
outcomes. (Care-Focused). Provide at least two specific examples.
One method the knowledge I gained in course NR605 assisted me in achieving
Program Outcome 2 was by educating me on the value of empathy in patient care.
When providing care for patients, empathy is essential because it enables us to
comprehend their needs and view the world from their viewpoint. This is crucial
while caring for mental health population since they have many worries due to not
an unstable state of mind. Building rapport and trust with patients via the display
of empathy is crucial for delivering high-quality treatment. In week 2, we learned
how to build the therapeutic relationship known as the frame. The assignment
explored creating and maintaining a therapeutic environment with boundaries and
a trusting therapeutic alliance.
Care that is patient-centered is care that is personalized to the requirements and
desires of the specific patient. This is crucial when caring for mental health
population since they may have complicated medical histories and want to
participate in the selection of their own therapy. In week 2 we discussed how to
make adjustments that would be made for specific populations such as a client is
