Precontext:
Alexander III died in India from the bite of a mosquito that carried
malaria on his way back from India. He had changed his mind about
conquering India and had decided to conquer small towns on his way back.
Alexander’s best friend since childhood, Hephaestion, has come to make a
speech for Alexander before he leaves the Earth.
Speech:
Hephaestion steps up to speak, and takes a deep breath before starting:
“As Alexander’s closest friend, I wanted to say some words to commemorate him.
He deserves everyone to know his legacy, his dreams, his family, and all he has
accomplished before he truly leaves us.” Hephaestion sighs, and he continues.
“Alexander the Great has conquered every army he has faced. He was a valiant
warrior who built a navy and conquered the great, fearsome Tyre. He is the same leader
who cut the Gordian Knot with no hesitation. He was the leader who conquered most of
Asia and grew the Macedonian Empire to its peak.” Hephaestion grins, remembering all
the feats of his best friend. He was no ordinary man after all. His smile wilts as he
remembers where he is standing. He clears his throat before talking onwards.
