Focus on Key Information: Be able to identify main ideas, supporting details, opinions, and attitudes of
speakers.
Listening for Specific Details: Expect questions asking for facts or details, such as dates, numbers,

2. Reading Section:
Skimming and Scanning: Skim texts for general understanding and scan for specific information to
answer questions accurately.
Identifying Arguments: Be able to identify arguments, opinions, and counterarguments. Focus on
recognizing how authors support their claims with examples or statistics.
Understanding Cultural Context: Expect questions related to French culture, history, and contemporary
issues. Familiarize yourself with topics such as French politics, society, education system, and lifestyle.
Complex Texts: You will likely encounter authentic materials like articles, letters, or reports, so practice
reading a variety of texts and identify their key points, tone, and purpose.
3. Writing Section:
Essay Writing: You will be asked to write an essay in response to a question. Make sure to:
o Structure your essay clearly (introduction, body paragraphs, and conclusion).
o Express Opinions and justify them with clear reasoning and examples, especially using cultural
references where appropriate.
4. Exam Strategy:
Practice Listening and Reading: Use past papers, online resources, and French media (e.g., news
websites, podcasts, films) to hone your comprehension skills.
Time Management: Practice answering questions within the time limits. Allocate enough time for each
section, especially the writing.
Detailed Review: For the writing section, proofread your work to check for spelling, grammar, and
agreement errors. Aim for a clean and polished response.
5. General Tips:
Stay Familiar with Current French Events: Read French newspapers, watch French TV shows or news,
and engage with French social media. This will help you in both the listening and reading sections.
Regular Practice: Regularly practice timed listening, reading, and writing exercises to build confidence
