14th Amendment - ANS-protects inmates from unreasonable segregation and provides for
inmates' equal protection under law. No Discrimination.
\1st Amendment - ANS-includes some of our most important freedoms, including religion and
speech.
\4th Amendment - ANS-Protects against unreasonable search and seizure.
\5th Amendment - ANS-Addresses double jeopardy, self-incrimination. and due process.
\6th Amendment - ANS-Provides the rights to an attorney and provides the rights to be informed
of the charges or the reason for being held.
\8th Amendment - ANS-addresses right to bail, fines, and provides the right against cruel and
unusual punishment.
\A sentence - ANS-is a group of words that expresses a complete thought. it contains a subject
and a predicate.
\Accountability - ANS-Government is to be conducted openly, efficiently, suitable, and honorably
so that the public can make informed judgment and hold public officials accountable.
\Acute Stress - ANS-is a short term stress with a quick resolution. this type of stress is what our
body handles the best.
\Assault - ANS-intentionally, knowingly, or recklessly causing bodily injury to another;
intentionally or knowingly threatening another with imminent bodily injury, or causing physical
contact with another that will be regarded as offensive or provocative.
\Attitude - ANS-organized and relatively unchanging combination of personal knowledge and
feeling about someone or something that influence him/her to behave in a certain way in
regards to that person or thing.
\Authoritarian Personality - ANS-Symbolizes one's affiliation with a more dominant group.
\Badgering or Belligerent - ANS-This tactic attempts to provoke you so that you will appear
emotionally out of control and lose credibility with the jury.
\Case Law - ANS-established by judicial decisions stemming from court cases.
\Chronic Stress - ANS-is prolonged unrelieved stress and can be viewed as a cumulative stress.
\Command Presence - ANS-Officers mere position of legal authority, which can initiate inmate
cooperation. it consist of a routine supervision and an acceptance of the officers authority by the
inmates.
\Condescending - ANS-The defense counsel uses ridicule to frame you as incompetent.
\Cross Examination - ANS-Questioning by the other party, often the defense, after the initial
direct examination. it is an attempt to discredit the witness' previous testimony by pointing out in
consistence and highlighting untruthful statement or through personal attacks
\Culture - ANS-A way of thinking and acting based on tradition. learned behavior passed down
from one generation to another.
\Custody - ANS-Under arrest by a peace officer or under restraint by a public servant pursuant
to an order of a court of this state or another state of the United State.
