Some people and companies stay in the city center, making it busy and full of shops, offices, and homes. This is called centralization. Other times, people and businesses move to areas outside the city, which is called decentralization. These movements change how cities look and work. There are different ways people move. Suburbanization happens when people leave the city center to live in quieter neighborhoods with more space. Peripheral urbanization
