As part of this assignment, you are required to attach a letter from the teaching practice office confirming your placement in the school of your choice where you will do your teaching practice. All TPS3703 students are required to complete their teaching practice in a high school and teach one major subject in the FET phase (Grades 10-12). No assignment will be marked without the confirmation of placement. [10] QUESTION 2: Technology integration in education Technology integration is perceived as a deliberate, conscious, and regular application of technological tools by teachers to enhance teaching and learning. Technology integration occurs when student teachers identify different technological tools and integrate them in their lessons during teaching practice. During their studies, student teachers are exposed to technology hardware and software including computers, laptops, interactive whiteboards, email, and Learning Management Systems that they can use to enhance content delivery during teaching practice. Teaching practice creates a platform for student teachers to showcase their ability to integrate technology in the real classroom with the assistance of their mentor teachers. This view suggests that during teaching practice, student teachers should attempt to integrate different technological tools. This will not only allow them to transform their pedagogical practices, but also help them to enhance their technological knowledge. 2.1. Based on the extract above, write a 12-15 pages essay indicating how you will integrate different technological tools and platforms to enhance the pedagogy when you get a chance to teach during teaching practice. In your essay, cover the following: 2.1.1. Discuss different technological tools and platforms that you will use to support your pedagogical practices during teaching practice (10) 2.1.2. QUESTION 2: TECHNOLOGY INTEGRATION IN EDUCATION

2.1.

INTEGRATING TECHNOLOGICAL TOOLS AND PLATFORMS TO
ENHANCE PEDAGOGY DURING TEACHING PRACTICE

Introduction

The 21st-century classroom is evolving rapidly, fueled by the growing diversity
of technological tools at our disposal. According to Mishra and Koehler (2006),
effective teaching in today’s world involves the seamless integration of
technology, pedagogy, and content. This perspective is further reinforced by
UNESCO (2018), which highlights that leveraging technology can enhance
the effectiveness, efficiency, and equity of education. Teaching practice, as a
critical component of teacher training, offers student teachers the opportunity
to apply theoretical knowledge in real-world settings, bridging the gap
between academic study and professional practice.

When student teachers integrate technology into their lessons, they do more
than merely digitize traditional classroom methods; they restructure how
teaching and learning transpire (Garrison & Anderson, 2003). By carefully
selecting and implementing hardware (such as laptops, tablets, and
interactive whiteboards) and software (including Learning Management
Systems (LMSs), educational apps, and communication platforms), teachers
can craft enriched pedagogical environments that promote active,
collaborative, and personalized learning experiences (Prensky, 2001). This
essay will explore how I, as a student teacher during my teaching practice,
plan to integrate different technological tools and platforms in the Further
Education and Training (FET) phase.
