Answer:
The American Association of Critical Care Nurses (AACN) is an organization that I greatly admire. I
have been a member of this exceptional community since 2021. The AACN is dedicated to providing
unwavering support to acute and critical care nurses, both professionally and personally, in order to
deliver the best possible patient care. Their mission is to promote excellence in acute and critical care for
nurses, patients, and families. They envision a healthcare system that prioritizes the needs of patients and
families, with acute and critical care nurses playing a vital role. The values of the AACN are deeply
rooted in their rich history, traditions, and culture. They value integrity, inclusion, transformation,
leadership, and relationships. To fulfill their mission, the AACN offers educational resources for critical
care nurses. They also encourage nurses to question their practices and base them on research, ensuring
that critically ill patients and their families receive the best care possible. The AACN upholds their
values through education, nursing excellence, certifications, and nursing events. Their mission, vision,
and values align perfectly with the core values of nursing. The AACN promotes integrity by emphasizing
honesty, trustworthiness, and ethical behavior in all aspects of nursing practice. They strive for
excellence by continuously seeking knowledge through research and webinars, among other resources.
The AACN's mission, vision, and values closely mirror my own philosophy of nursing, which
emphasizes the importance of lifelong learning and ongoing professional development. As an active
registered nurse, I am committed to continuous education, reflective practice, and self-improvement to
enhance my knowledge, skills, and competencies. Ultimately, I find that their nursing philosophy closely
mirrors my own, it is not different.
