A. Explain how training and development may engage employees at every
stage of their career development by doing the following:
1. Explain how the organization's floor agents can use training and
development to advance their careers within the organization.
As the company continues to grow and expand its footprint nationally it will
provide more opportunity for growth. The training program can help the floor
agents develop their careers by teaching them the philosophies of what makes good
agents. It will also show the agents proper techniques in succeeding. With the
training program in place, it will help develop other skills that will be useful to
continue to grow with the company’s future growth by teaching leadership skills.
2. Explain how the organization can use training and development to
identify individual floor agents to move into succession planning for
promotion into management positions (e.g., client sales manager, store
, manager, supply chain manager, or project manager).
The company will be able to use the training program to help develop
identified candidates for succession planning by leveraging experience and seeing
the qualities that each candidate possess. To set up proper succession planning
the company will need to define job descriptions and what skills are necessary to fill
those positions. The individuals that possess leadership qualities and other qualities
will be able to develop those skills in the training program and cross training on
the job. By posting these positions the candidates will also be able to request cross
training and develop necessary skills to advance their careers. Those that continue
to succeed and show leadership qualities can also be mentored and groomed for
future positions.
