A Letter to God is a story written by Gregorio Lopez y Fuentes about faith and kindness. Lencho is a poor farmer who depends on his crops. He hopes for rain, and when it comes, he is happy. But soon, a hailstorm destroys everything, leaving him worried about his family's survival. Lencho has strong faith in god, so he writes a letter to god, asking for 100 pesos to help him. The postmaster sees the letter and is touched by lencho's faith. He and the other post office workers collect 70 pesos and send it to lencho. When lencho gets the money, he is not happy. He thinks the post office workers stole the rest. He writes another letter to god, asking for the full amount but tells god not to send it through the post office because he believes they are "a bunch of crooks."
