What source prompted your research question? - The source that prompted our research was an article by Eric Zerkel which focused on pollution around the world, and how it affects the population and environment around us. This source made us question how our modern way of life affects our health and the environment around us. What information did you need before you began your research, and how did that information shape your research? - The information that that we needed to begin our research was the basis and origin of pollution, and what it effects. A source that did not work was a study in Serbia by Ivan Stevanovic on asthma symptoms due to the local steel industry. We decided not to use this study because some of the participants were smokers, and this in turn would deviate accurate results. How did you select the strategies you used to gather information or conduct research? Were they effective? - The strategies that we used to conduct research were use reliable, peer reviewed, science based sources to ensure that all of our information was reliable and effective. To ensure reliability, we conducted strategies CRAAP and RAVEN on our sources. These strategies were effective because in this way we were able to conduct proper research and provide reliable information incorporated into our research paper and our multimedia presentation. How did your research question evolve as you moved through the research process? Did your research question go in a different direction? - Our research question originally focused on the environmental effects of ocean pollution. As we searched for 3100% Pass Guarantee Olivia West, All Rights Reserved © 2025 more sources, we encountered studies focusing on land and air pollution, such as the study on the Shenyang steel and iron industrial district of China, the question transitioned into a land and air pollution perspective. This perspective, along with the encountered sources, had many more links to human health, which we found to be a more relevant subject. What information did you need that you weren't able to locate? How did you go about finding that information? - Information that we had a hard time locating was a source on human impacts of air and soil pollution that were relevant to our question, however, after changing up our keywords and expanding our research databases we were finally able to locate several sources that helped us answer our cultural lens such as the Japan based source by researcher Tanaka who wrote th
