, Running Head: The Nursing Process 1
Introduction
Nursing has developed so much that the nursing process has been extensive in
directing the assessment and clinical stages; it includes the variety of clinical choices that
should be made during a patient meeting. The nursing process is viewed as an essential
nursing tool, that has several systemic steps used to impose guidelines and critical
thinking in providing good patient care. Nursing is a coordinated and systematic
approach to recognizing and taking care of patients' concerns. In 1955 Lydia Hall first
presented the nursing process and identified the three steps: observation, administration
of care, and validation. Ida Jean Orlando-Pelletier, in 1961 first discovered the type of the
nursing process named nurses today, patients’ behavior, nurse's reaction, and nurse
actions. Dorothy Johnson defined nursing as promoting the behavioral functioning of the
patient. Johnson recognized three steps of the nursing process: assessment, decision, and
nursing action and is known for creating the Behavior System Model of Nursing. This
Behavior system nursing is focused on the essence of research-based knowledge about
the impact of nursing care on patients in 1959. The evolution of nursing relies on
recognizing nursing as an insightful scholarly discipline that adds to society (Black, 2019,
p. 199). This paper will evaluate approaches to providing and promoting continuity of
care using the nursing process. The nursing process involves setting the patient's needs
and delivering them through assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and
evaluation.
NANDA was established in 1982; the North American Nursing Diagnosis
Association is an expert association that creates, research, issues, and refines the nursing
attention to nursing diagnosis. North American Nursing Diagnosis Association diagnosis
helps maintain and reinforce nurse terminology, professional job, and expert capacities.
NANDA gives the world-leading evidence-based nursing diagnosis for practically
speaking and deciding mediations and results (Gaines, 2022). They likewise add to
patient wellbeing by combining evidence-based wording into clinical practice and
independent clinical direction. The nursing diagnosis depends on the patient's present
condition and health assessment, permitting nurses and other medical providers to see
patient care from a comprehensive point of view. A good diagnosis can prompt more
excellent patient health, quality consideration, and expanded repayments from private
