Discussion Use of other discipline theories

Nursing borrowed theories from Physiology, Sociology, Psychology, Medicine, Physics, and
Organization systems. and afterward utilized those ideas and structures to design theories in
nursing. One specific theory is the theory of Erik Erikson’s developmental theory of psychology.
Age and development stages are evaluated to decide whether the client is at the normal degree of
development and growth, design care that is age and developmentally suitable, and alter care
based on the age-related aspect and requirements of patients. Erik's theory helps analyze a
patient's symptomatic conduct of behaving regarding awful previous encounters and battles with
present developmental assignments.

An ethical dilemma in nursing is when a nurse must choose between competing values and know
and know that there are consequences no matter what preference is. Ethical dilemmas may clash
with the nurse's values or the Code of Ethics for Nurses (Faubion, 2022). Ethical dilemmas can
take different forms in nursing. For instance, advance directives may not be observed because
families want something distinct. Nurses usually come to clinics with queries about informed
consent, discomfort, and moving past a shared target, but end-of-life treatment is not limited to
dilemmas in nursing experience. Nevertheless, the nurse has a duty to the patient and the ethical
values of non-maleficence and dedication — the duty to bypass harm and be dedicated to your
coworkers. I have been a victim of ethical dilemmas in my clinical practice, and I was to decide
if it is proper to discuss a patient's medical details with a parent or guardian. Parents and
guardians were given access to medical records for any patient/child under eighteen years of age.
However, concerns like this often resolve themselves as reality always showcases itself.

I would say that this situation closely fits the ANA standard of ethics "The nurse promotes,
advocates for, and protects the rights, health, and safety of the patient."
