Introduction
This economics report is about the restaurant Carpe Diem, located in Oud Gastel.
We did research about the restaurant. During this research we saw some unexpected
things which was really interesting. We really tried to get all the information that we
needed, and we feel like we got a good view of the restaurant. We start with a
description of the restaurant, their market share, the products and services that they
offer, other factors, description of their industry, how they work together with 3
companies, the differentiation, the competition in the region and we end with a
conclusion.
Chapter 1
Carpe Diem is a warm and cozy restaurant with a changing menu. Owners Nicky
Colijn and Brigitte Sebregts have been active in the hospitality industry for 9 years,
they started with Nicky's Paviljoen (sports canteen), 4 years ago with Onder de Toren
(lunch cafe) and last year with Carpe Diem (restaurant).
The restaurant is located in Oud Gastel, a village with 7000 inhabitants. The product
that the restaurant offers is an a la carte menu. The menu varies every other month,
which makes it attractive to go to the restaurant a couple times a year. The target
group is very diverse, from young to old, within the village and outside the village, in
addition to dinner, parties, condolences and buffets are also possible. The restaurant
has been around for almost a year (opened on December 8, 2023), it is part of a
triptych of companies Onder de Toren, Nicky's Paviljoen and Carpe Diem. (lunch,
party café and sports canteen). The activities of the 3 companies are well aligned and
