The ear consists of the external ear; the middle ear( tympanic
Cavity) and the internal ear
External Ear: The external ear has an auricle ,an external auditory
Meatus and ear drum

auricle collects air vibrations and sound wave .
The external auditory meatus is a curved tube that leads from the
auricle to the tympanic membrane It conducts sound waves from the
auricle to the tympanic membrane.
the outer third of the meatus is elastic cartilage, and the inner two
thirds is bone, formed by the tympanic plate of temporal bone . The
meatus is lined by skin, contain hairs and sebaceous glands.
The sensory nerve supply : to auricle great auricular ,lesser occipital
to auricle and external meatus the auriculotemporal nerve and the
auricular branch of the vagus nerve.
The lymph drainage: is to the superficial parotid, mastoid, and
superficial cervical lymph nodes.
Blood supply: posterior auricular ,superficial temporal and inner
part of the tube by deep auricular branch of maxillary artery
Tympanic Membrane (ear drum) is found at the bottom of the bony
external acoustic meatus and it is the border between the external and
middle ear. It is attached with a fibrocartilaginous ring to the tympanic
plate except superior attached to groove in suprameatal part of
tympanic bone

2-middle fibrous layer
3- inner mucous layer
Surface:1-outer concave surface
2-inner convex
Nerve supply: outer part auriculotemporal nerve ,inner part auricular
