Most at risk? In order to promote health and reduce inequalities, health practitioners need to know who
is at risk the most

• Children – young enough to develop good health and lifestyle behaviours, avoid damaging
behaviour in the future. 20% are now obese and are increasing and are less active due to the
entertainment of new technology, cause them to stay indoor. Role models influence them.

• Unemployed – more chance of feeling less valued, become depressed and develop an unhealthy
lifestyle. May not exercise or eat healthily therefore, this can lead to obesity, premature death.

• Older people – some are less physically active due to economic circumstances or physical
