Department - ANSWER The department of Business and Professional
Regulations/Headquarters Tallahassee Florida.
Members on the Barber Board - ANSWER 7 total numbers of members. 5
members of the board shall be barbers who have practiced the occupation of
barbering in this state for at least 5 years. 2 laypersons who are not presently
licensed barbers, can not be connected with the manufacturing, rental,
wholesale, distribution of barber equipment or supplies.
Appointed by Governer and Confrimed by the Senate that they can remove any
member of the Barber board for cause such a as: - ANSWER Gross
Malpractice, In competency, Drunkenness.
Terms of serving on board. - ANSWER No more than 2 consecutive terms.
Original License, Renewal and Delinquent Barbers Fees: - ANSWER $100.00
, Biennial Renewal Barbers License is done - ANSWER May 1 through July 31
even-numbered years. Must complete 16 hr continuing education when
renewing license.
Each applicant applying for initial licensure within the second year of a
biennium shall remit a license Fee of - ANSWER $50., except that during the
renewal period.
Original Barbershop License fee - ANSWER $50.00
Barbershop License Application Fee - ANSWER $75
Biennial Renewal Barbershop Licens fee - ANSWER $150.00, is done
September 1 through November 30 even-numbered years.
Barbershop Delinquent Fee - ANSWER $100
No animal pets shall be permitted inside a barbershop with the exception of -
ANSWER Closed aquariums or Trained Animals to assist the hearing and
Visual impaired.
