Employee motivation should be a regular routine if the company needs to maximize on
the output and work rate of its workers. Besides the short term goals of the company, employee
motivation enables the company to meet the overall goals of the organization (Dobre, 2013).
Productivity is improved and hence the level of output goes up. Our bosses used to recognize
individual efforts and reward them accordingly. For example, a well performing employee would
get a weekend getaway with their loved ones, sponsored by the company. This was very
effective as families whose members worked for the company developed an attachment and love
for the company. This further motivated the employees to keep working hard as they felt that the
company was part of their being and cared for them and their families.
On the other hand, stress is almost all over in a human’s life and this includes their places
of work too which at times may be unavoidable to work pressure. It is the role of the leaders in
the organization to take it upon themselves to help lower stress levels amongst its employees to
