The GCSE Panjabi Higher Tier Paper 1 Listening exam assesses your ability to understand spoken
Panjabi in a variety of contexts, including more complex and detailed conversations compared to the
Foundation Tier. This exam tests your comprehension of both general and specific information in spoken
form.

Time: Afternoon
Duration: Approximately 45 minutes
Format: The listening exam will consist of multiple recordings played twice. These recordings
will be dialogues, interviews, announcements, or narratives, and will test both your general and
detailed understanding of the spoken language.
Components of the Exam:
1. Audio Recordings:
o The recordings will feature a range of contexts, including informal and formal situations,
such as a conversation between friends, a news report, or a formal interview.
o You will hear conversations that use both everyday vocabulary and more advanced,
complex structures, reflecting the higher level of this tier.
